Ecto and e are abbreviated terms for Globs of Ectoplasm.

For a variety of reasons, Ectos have become the primary alternative currency for player trades and are almost always used for transactions exceeding 100 (e.g. something worth 200 would be traded as "100 +X e" (with X Ectos being valued at 100). Other items such as Zaishen Keys and Armbraces of Truth are used as well for the same purposes.
